Toni Kroos' Icon League relies on Levata for access control
The Icon League is designed as an innovative small field league that combines a wide variety of entertainment worlds from sport to music, and more. The league is designed for the long term and offers a high level of football as well as a special entertainment factor.
Business Challenge
Cologne/Meppen. This is what goes on behind the scenes of the Icon League: Soccer superstar Toni Kroos and streamer and influencer Elias Nerlich raised the curtain on the Icon League in Cologne at the beginning of September. Over 20,000 spectators attended the first match day in the sold-out Lanxess Arena. In order to ensure a smooth and time-saving access control process, the Icon League called on the expertise of Levata's Germany-based office.
The Solution
"As Europe's largest ID distributor, we can implement the full range of access control solutions for sports clubs and leagues of all kinds. We also produce membership cards and season tickets for various professional and amateur teams. For the first season of the Icon League, we produced team and staff admission tickets, (VIP) tickets, press accreditations, other admission wristbands and Icon League lanyards. To personalise the tickets at short notice, we also installed a high-performane event card printer on site, which can be easily operated using the associated software," reports Marcus Brand, Managing Director of Levata's office in the Emsland district town of Meppen.
Benefits and Results
The cutting-edge event card printer has only recently been launched and offers many innovations in the world of card printers. "Whether for conferences, festivals, trade fairs or events of all kinds, this technology is the ultimate solution for creating cards in classic credit card format through to long-format event passes. That's why we chose this card printer especially for the Icon League," says Brand. "The card feeder can be individually adjusted from the classic credit card format of 86 mm up to 140 mm in length."
Alvaro Magel, Head of Partnerships at the Icon League, explains why Levata was chosen: "We are delighted that the Icon League has finally started and that we can bring everything we have been working on for the last 12 months to the field. It is vital for us to have the right partners at our side. That's why we're relying on Levata's printing technology for our match days in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Munich."
The Icon League matches are played in five-a-side mode (four outfield players, one goalkeeper) on a small pitch (45 x 22 meters). The pitch has a board on each side and there is no offside. The duration of the game is twelve minutes per half, with the last two minutes of each half in net playing time.
